We've been working for a while on making content planning easier and more intuitive for you and the results are finally here π enter: Topic Explorer.
You've probably already noticed that the Keyword Research tool in the app's navigation changed its name to Topic Explorer.
I already went over Topic Explorer updates in May product newsletter but in case you've missed it I'll walk you through the most important changes once more π
The Topic Explorer tab is now essentially a hub for all of your content planning resources: Domain Maps, Topical Maps, Keyword Researches, and soon CSV Clusters.
From here you can browse through your existing projects, as well as create new ones.
Topic Explorer is more than just a design refresh, so let's go through the goodies one by one:
You can now connect your Google Search Console and receive an instant overview of your domain's topical authority: which clusters are already covered and ranking, which still need work, and where you have content gaps to take care of next.
β
You can view it in a table or graph format.
You can also use the filters to compare what your competitors are already covering or to see an estimated keyword difficulty of each cluster.
You can connect multiple domains and create a Domain Map for each. All maps will auto-update every 30 days to reflect your current work and changes in SERP.
β
If youβre trying to populate a new website, make a shift into a new sector of the market, or simply want to grow your current websiteβs topical authority, you need relevant content that shows your expertise and drives traffic. Enter: Topical Map. No more guessing, just neat, relevant, and easy-to-execute article ideas in minutes.
Here is what changed:
Soon, you will be able to take the data gathered from any external tool and let Surfer make sense of it in minutes! CSV Clusters will find connections between the keywords and group them for you so that you can translate that information into an actionable part of your content strategy.
β
This feature is not new and doesn't need an introduction - we know a lot of you still love to use Keyword Research over our newer solutions, so we're keeping it as an option within the Topic Explorer (no changes in how it works).
